Huh ?. I think you need to expalin yourself a bit better. If a Vob file contains 20 mins of video then it will play for 20 mins !?

Are you referring to the length of time a certain segment will play- like the FBI warning, Studio logo, etc? I think that IFOEdit will allow you to change those values; I've never done it, but if you do a search, I'm sure you can find a process for changing them.
You can't fool me, I'm a moron! -
Your not reffering to how long the actual DVD will play are you, that would be determined by bit rate how much time you can put on one disk.
Most Vob files are the movie, so how long it plays is dependant on the length of the video.
A picture like FBI warning I don't know, is it a movie that nothing is moving, or a still image displayed for X# minutes?
Any more guesses? -
i have a vob file that should play for 45 min, but it only plays for about 8 seconds. I wanna know what file i have to edit to change this value.

A vob file should just play for as long as there is video on there. If yours only plays for 8 secs then there is something wrong with it. There are no other files to change.
