When i backuped my "Gangs of NY" on one disc (the reg 2 is on 2 discs..) i ripped everything on both discs using "File mode" in DVD decrypter. I put it together using DVDshrink ver 3 and it works perfect, i have the first disc as title 1 and the second as title 2!

My problem is that i want to rip different capters from different DVD`s and put it on one DVD using the same method but i cant get it to work! I choose the chapter i want using "IFO mode" in DVD Decrypter, but i cant open the file in DVDshrink, it stops after analyzing the first 3-4% and all i get is an error message that says "cannot find the file" What im i doing wrong? Anybody have any ideas???

  2. on first part of your note, do you rip 2 separate DVDs and turned into one complete with menus ? ...how do you access each one of the originals? (on the single new one...)

I ripped both DVD`s with DVD Decrypter and then i used DVD shrink to erase the menus and extra materials so that i only had the main movie, subtitle and the DD sound!

try submitting the IFO to IFO edit
choose open to the IFO associated with the TITLE that won't load into SHRINK and select GET VTS SECTORS
Choose Save..IFO edit will warn you it intends to change the corrresponding .BUP file as well...say OK..
Now the corrected TITLE will load into SHRINK

Re-save the individual chapters in a MPEG-2 editing application
I thinking the CLOSED GOPS in some of the segments get opened or some such so RE-SAVING each extracted chunk as a new entity could do the job you want
The editor I would use is MPEG-VCR from womble (cause I bought that one)
but there are othe EDIT programs that just RE-SAVE with out a quality spoiling re-render(I think M-2 Edit is one such)...In the process they fix problem strems.

Also, unrelated, a freeware tool that cuts MOVIES with little problem is called CHOPPER XP..see if cutting with this can help the cuts become "recognizable"
