OK,

You would think there is a straightforward answer to this one, or at least I hope there is.

I have a Philips DVD763SA standalone player which in itself, is a cracking player, with many of the features found or more expensive decks. I selected it primarily for its repuation for quality but also because it has 2 scarts and would hopefully allow (RGB) loop/pass-through.

The first one I got had problems freezing, but I was at least happy to see that it passed an RGB signal from my RGB cable-equipped XBOX. The replacement player works flawlessly, or at least it did, until I tried the XBOX...nothing...just a black screen. Interestingly, when the player is brought out of standby, the XBOX screen flashes on quickly before being replaced by the DVD image...odd.

I called Philips (never again) who advised that their "product specialist" said it would not pass any signal from one scart to the other, unless the player was actually working...surely impossoble as the DVD image takes precedence. When I mentioned it the the reseller that sold it to me, he advised it must have been working on the "faulty", 1st player because of the fault...the shop also had no idea what the other scart could be used for as they too said it wouldn't pass through any signal.

Anyone have any other ideas? Anyone had any experience with RGB loop/pass-through on this player???

Thanks,

J.
