  1. This my first post so aplogies if i seem stupid probably is me !!

    I have converted my avi to mpeg with Main Concept then when I put in into Ulead movie factory it starts to convert the video as well ....I thought it would then just burn it to the DVD

    Aplogies again but any help would be appreciated .....thank you

  2. In 'Ulead' as you call it (which product is it BTW, Movie Factory or DVD Workshop?), there is a setting you need to tick labelled something like 'do not convert compliant mpeg'. If you already have that ticked, your mpeg is not DVD compliant and you will need to re-encode, or let Ulead do it for you.

    Or if the MPEG is ready to be burned, why not load that puppy into IfoEdit and let it author the files to be burned? That way you know your files will not be re-encoded.

  4. Are you using Movie factory? If Ulead keeps telling you it needs to re-encode I.E. "This will take some time to render...." then either you are having it change something, or the original MPG isn't compliant. You need to check that the PAL/NTSC settings match the original. make sure you match the project (S)VCD/DVD to the original MPG. In the video clip selection window, highlight the MPG then click on INFO compare the settings to ensure they are "legal". Or use something else that's not such a pain in the ass. -rob
