Help In Coverting

I downloaded a movie and i have a panasonic a310 dvd player.i was wondering i want to download it on a cdr cd or cdr w cd...i want to know what format do i have to convert it into i am going to use nero to burn it and i am using Easy x video converter

and my options are
avi
mpeg1
vcd
mpeg2
dvd
svcd

also the movie is 2 files can i leave like that are do i have to make it into one?
