I've been getting that price for several months now, within a few dollars.

These look like the Ritek GO4s that have a blank "mirror" looking surface. Is there a place that sells G04s that have a finished surface w/a silver background (like the Ritek G03 Fuji's) that has a line for writing titles, etc on the disk?

I'd love to get in on a good price but I don't like the blank surface DVD-Rs since I usually write on them.

I'm also looking for the "matted" surface Ritek 4x discs, so if anybody knows who's selling them, please let us know. Awhile ago I ordered some from Rima and they were the matted ones, but my most recent order with them I received the shiny discs, which I don't like.

Wow thanks for the warning guys. I am going to need some more G04's soon and I was going to reorder from Rima, but I really don't like the glossy mirror surface.

I might be willing to spend the extra $$$ on Taiyo Yuden 4X's if they have a better top surface. Has anyone tried the TY 4X from Rima or elsewhere?

Also, I've never tried printable discs before. What is that surface typically like? Is it papery or is it similar to the silver-matte coating on the above-mentioned Riteks?

The 4X branded Fuji's at Best Buy and other B&M stores are usually TY and have a perfect surface for writing. They are probably cheaper (around $2 each after tax) than you can get mail order TY media.

I'd just like to get some Ritek G04s that have a similar surface. The 1-2X Fuji's at Best Buy are G03 but I'd rather have 4X media with a good writing surface.

Thanks for the info, a post yesterday after you found that deal would have been more appreciated though since now your find is a moot point for the rest of us

    FYI,

I e-mailed Rima support about the top surface of the Ritek 4X discs, and just got the reply. In a nutshell the support rep said their current stock have the shiny silver top, but their next shipment of Ritek 4X DVD-R coming in late this week will have the silver matte surface. He suggested that if I held off ordering until the weekend or early next week, the discs I receive should be from the new stock and should have the silver matte surface, so that's what I plan to do. The TY 4X discs have shiny silver tops as well, BTW.
