  1. Hi all. I've found out the hard way that my panasonic dvd player refuses to play svcds; it begins to skip and sound screws up. I have a bunch of SVCDs borrowed from a friend and I want to convert them over to VCDs. Following different guides I've learned how to do this. BUT, there is one small obstacle: after using dvd2avi to create the project, I end up with a .mpa file that contains "delay -67ms" in its file name. I'm assuming that the sound will be delayed in the movie after encoding and want to fix this before I waste hours encoding. Does anyone here know how to do this in tmpgenc? I saw a mention of "Source" configuration but the person who mentioned it wasn't very elaborate. Thanks in advance!

  2. Ok First I recommend you use TMPGEnc. You can load directly your mpg file on your svcd to tmpg. Use the wizard. You will come to one page where you can see a box with the word "source range" at the top left corner. Click and open , an editing dialog box with your picture will appear.
Use the slider to mark in and mark out a small section for testing and checking your syncronisation. If everything is OK untick the source range again before proceeding.Thats it!!

  3. Thanks for a quick reply. OK, so I know how to do this manually. Is it possible to do it automatically without trial and error? The .mpa gives the delay, "-67ms," so can't I just put "-67" (or just 67 to offset delay?) in the audio delay gap in the source dialog?

  4. Why mpa ? didn't you read my post carefully I said 'straight from svcd disk to tmpg" No need to go the mpa way You can do without trial and error. Just suggesting a small clip to check afterall it's only a few minutes
