  1. hmm.. i could have swore i already posted this, but i cant find my post!

I used to use VideoLan Player and Windows Media PLayer to preview .rar files before, but now neither program works for this, not with mpg1, mpg2 or even avi files. Does anybody know of a program that is specifically targeted to view zipped .rar video files? Particularly the multi-part movie files available on newgroups or irc. Its quite bothersome to have to download 54 some files, just to preview their quality. Thats a good way to use up your downloads too... I get 20 gigs a month for 22 bucks through my news server.. I would really like to be able to preview a file before i download the whole thing.

    Thanks in advance.....

  2. You gotta to be kidding me! You can preview RAR even multipart RAR files?
Forget about it! You can preview it only when the poster is kind enough to give a preview file, in JPG or other format, with small size, for you to preview and decide. Other than that, you have no idea.......

  3. Try running WinRAR and look for 'repair broken archive' command. Try extracting the first portion *disk* of the download to a file on hard drive.

    Worth a try I guess.
