  1. This has probably been discussed before, but ... just to be sure ...
    There is no writer that accepts both +R an -R formats
    and that sets the book type to "DVD-ROM" when burning DVD+R disks.

    I could be wrong but I think dvd-r/-rw book type is already set on their media so I don’t think their will be any way to change it’s book type with a firmware update.

  8. My HP 100j DVD+RW does that. When I write something with Nero I can select Book-Type mode.

  9. Goldmember is right. The minus booktype is pre-recorded on the media.

    I didn't read ktton's post carefully I thought it was about DVD+-RW drives' bitsetting on plus media. (original thread). It would be possible with a proper firmware.
