This is rather weird.. but I'm sure some of you have seen this before.

I've got two or three videos.. both MPG, not sure what codec they are encoded in...

    I have a P4 2.4GHz/512 machine with a 128mb ATI Radeon 9600 Pro video card...

Whenever I play these three movies, each scene transitions into the next but comes out pixelated.. and I don't know how to fix?

    Here is an example:

Any way to fix this? Is the movies fubared?[/img]

    1. don't use media player to play mpeg files
    2. if it is a mpeg2 file -- what codec are you using ? install powerdvd or windvd and use one of those to play ..

or install one of above and use media player classic instead

Will I have any issues encoding and burning to VCD CD?

  4. If what you see after you follow BJ_Ms instructions is still that pixelation... then obviously yes.

Besides the "Property of Universal" in the image (at the top of the video) or the fact that the filename gives away that you've got 2 Fast 2 Furious, the problem is the video file is likely corrupt.

    Most illegal downloads are.

From the looks of it, I think its an issue with the file, not your codecs.

Who said anything about illegal downloads? How can you assume that? How do you know I didn't rip from my own DVD screener copy?

Either way, thanks for the input.

Yes, this very much looks like the infamous XviD green screen fenomenon. Wares or not, ffdshow usually takes care of that, if not, fourCC changer surely will.

Given that we now know it's XviD, what do you suggest?

Again, like I said before... It's likely a bad file. You're screwed.
