ave the following decision to make and I was hoping to get some opinions on it. I have to move away from DVDComplete for my DVD Authoring needs and I am thinking about moving to either DVD-Lab or Pinnacle S8. The reason for Pinnacle S8 is I have been geen a deal since Pinnacle purchased Dazzles hardware (long Story).
For Reference This is how I am creating my DVDs.
Scanalyzer for Capturing video through IEEE-1394 port
Adobe Priemere 6.0 for Video editing with the Matrox RT2000
Either TEMPGENC or CCE for encoding. (Have not decided yet)
S8 or DVD-LAb for DVD Authoring. (Also have MYDVD too)
Any thoughs which why I should go. My main concerns are.
1) Might have to purchase an additional DVD burning softwre with DVD-LAB.
2) S8 might decide to reencode my video.
3) Lots of complaints with S8. DVD-LAB seems to be well received.
Any thoughts and/or opions would be most welcome. I am looking for a solution is the 50 to 100 buck range.

I have not tried pinnacle, but DVDLab I'm not too fond of. It gives you alot of freedom as far as menu templates, but with vob files it makes you demux them or you get an error during creation. I like TMPGEnc DVD author, it's easy to load multi tracks and the new verison lets you do motion menus and motion thumbnails

No question DVDlab.
Your requirements are author only. You already have capture, edit and encode. S8 will re-encode and is not great in the author area. DVDlab is a great author package with lots of room for creativity (S8 is not).
BTW I have both; I use S8 to capture (when it does not crash) and edit (mostly trimming). And DVDlab to author.AKA Zaphod -
I've used both S8 and DVDLab. S8's latest version, v8.8.17, has serious "Out Of Sync" problems when you are working with mpeg files. The audio and video go out of sync. S8 also has a 60 minute limitation on the length of the DVD, or it wants to re-encode it. DVDLab is much better. You have to make your audio streams all the same.
