  1. I am sending someone some burnt copies of a TV show but dont' know if it will play in the UK. I'm using DVDdcrypter to rip the file from my set and then using it to copy it. There is no encryption or anything. Will it work in the UK dvd players?

  2. DVD Decrypter makes it region free but they are going to need a
multisystem player that can play NTSC discs on PAL TVs (and vice versa)

I live in the UK and my DVD player and PS2 and 2 TVs all play NTSC DVDs. Are you able to ask your friends here what player(s)/TV they will use?

If so, you can easily look it up for them and verify whether it plays NTSC.

  4. Just about all UK DVD players will play both PAL and NTSC discs, if you want to know what players will play DVD-R or DVD+R look at the DVD compatability list.

  5. As long as we are on the topic, I'll ask.

I heard that is it a requirement that all new players in the UK handle both NTSC and PAL. Is that true or do they just happen to handle them?
