What's the most annoying one you've ever heard?
One time this dude had a dog barking as his ringer. I just wanted to grab it and donate it to the the nearest wall.
BTW: mine is a remix of beethoven's fifth

Call me old fashioned but I use my phone for talking. Novel concept.
Any phone that rings in a restraunt /store /theatre.........is annoying no matter what the tone.

at least you have the decency to set it to vibrate.
id say the next most annoying is to hear a christmas or seasonal tune on the off season.
jingle bells or some related tune in mid summer. that more or less cracks me up! but its still anoying.
i keep my phone on vibrate all the time, Like you said, i hate hearing other people's phones in places where they shouldnt go off (movie theaters during a movie, classes at school, etc..) -

I too am old fashioned,so is my cellphone :P it just has the standard ringer.I use it to communicate not to play tunes, take pictures or any other nonsense.
-
Set it to vibrate. You don't annoy anyone.
I work in a mill, can't hear the plain old Ma Bell type ringer, so vibrate.
And if you're kinky, like Dilbert, you can relocate it.
Nothing more annoying than some of the goofy tunes some people pick for "their" special ring.
Cell service is cheaper today than having a land line, and if you have cable/DSL, you don't need a land line. If nothing else, you don't have to pay the 60 bucks I find that the Telcos charge to carry your number with you, with the "guaranteed" portability we pay a monthly fee/tax to be entitled to. -
I have the NOKIA 7650 and i hate all the ringtones on all phones, saying that i usually set mine to vibrate.
I cant live without my phone, its a vital part of my life, then again i wish i never bought one in the first place. -
i always got mine set on vibrate. i can't stand being in class and all of a sudden someone's phone rings. and they got it set to the loudest setting possible. then they can't find it! the whole class has to stop and wait for them to find their phone.

What kind of a man are you? The guy is unconscious in a coma and you don't have the guts to kiss his girlfriend? -
I have my phone set to a ringer because I have a tendency to forget things. If I cant find my phone, I simply dial the number. I have it set on vibrate when I'm in class.
-
I've got several ringer settings on mine - I have different rings for different number in my phonebook, that way I can tell if I want to answer it without even looking at it. But one thing I always, always do, is set it to vibrate in restaurants and movies. I really hate it when you're in a movie and someone's phone starts going off, then they sit there in the theater and talk, in a normal voice, so you can hear their conversation but not the movie.
But about annoying ring types. A guy I used to work with had his set to play some bagpipe tune, and he always had it set to the highest volume. Not that I don't like bagpipes, it was just really annoying to be sitting at my desk working, or on the phone, and hear bagpipes playing, even from 50 feet away.
I'm probably guilty of having some of those "goofy" tunes for my ringer types :P I had my office set to the old Batman theme, and a few friends set to the James Bond theme, or the Gilligan's Island theme, or the Rocky theme, or the Get Smart theme, just to name a few. But I never have my ringer set above low for the ringer volume - so low, that if I'm with someone they can't hear it ringing in my pocket. My thought is if I need the ringer any higher to hear it, I should just set it to vibrate."Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man, and let history make its own judgment."

Mine plays wav files, so I change it pretty regularly to whatever track takes my fancy at the time.

I'm looking for a new phone...I'll try to look for the southpark one, or something similar(one of my favorite shows)

I have the Sony Ericsson P800, its a great phone.

I have noticed the first time you click on the file it displays the page cannot be displayed (no idea why) click back then click on the link again, the wav file should play. At least it does on my system.

I have a Siemens(dont know the model), but it's a pretty good phone. All my calls are clear but it's extremely small...everytime I get up I have to check my pocket to see if it's still there. Sometimes I wonder, what the hell was I thinking?
-
Because of where I work, we get free downloads on our phones from the web so we've got everything from Halo soundtrack to oldies and new stuff like 50 cent. It's just like kazaa basically.

Mine is a Motorola i90, too expensive for a cell, but I'm stuck with it.
I don't know how many tunes it can play, tho' my one son-in-law has his play some wierd stuff.
Would it be asking too much, or hijacking, if I asked you guys who add to this thread to give your service provider and whether it has good coverage and how you like it? (Just occurred to me that non-US wouldn't apply to me, but to your own countrymen, it might, if your country has more tnan one provider, sorry
Cost is not my reason for asking. Just that I have Nextel, which, here, sucks. My service dies 200 yards from my house and doesn't come back for 2 miles in one direction, and a half mile in the other..
And, when I go up to the lake, my weekend vac spot, I lose service 50 miles north, period, "no service" clear to Lake Erie, the next 100 miles.
One would think Nextel, from their ads, would have good coverage.
All my kids have music on their phones. I'm an oldster, like Ma Bell's best.
Cheers

Gmatov: I know your pain, I had nextel for a while but got rid of it for obvious reasons. I recommend AT&T or Sprint...I've found those two the best.
Pyrate: Halo soundtrack....AWESOME! -
I don't hate any rings, what I hate is the people at work who have thier ringtone set to "Flight of the Bumblebee" or something who let it go for 32 bars before answering the phone....
.... you can't tell me you don't know that's your phone ringing!!!

We sell Verizon and Sprint. Verizon has by far the best coverage but sprint can be very good if you stay local and don't travel lots. Otherwise,
Verizon is the way to go. I'm with Sprint and it has done just fine for me over the past years.
Devanshu...the halo soundtrack is pretty good for a phone, plus we can get Halo screensavers and sound clips of the aliens which really is funny.:P -

There's nothing worse than some pratt playing the MI-2 tune, or even worse, the latest 'chart-topper'.
Still, the world would be a boring place if we were all the same, and a terrible place without all the pratts we have to suffer
