I've just bought myself a Pioneer A06 DVD Burner, and it came with Nero Burning Rom software which I already had for my CD Burner. But I'm wanting to find out a few different software programmes freeware or not freeware (not too expensive though) that are good for either backing up a dvd that may or may not have copy protection on it, and also putting vcd's onto DVD-R.
So any suggestions as to good burning programmes for these two things, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

DVDshrink is what I would recomend. It's free too!
I would get both version 2.3 and 3Beta5. It does not install into windows, just double click it in windows explorer or set your own shortcut on the desktop. This is nice, you can run more than one version if you want, I do.
Quality has been great for me. I have done 8gig DVD backups to one DVD -r and could not tell the difference in the disks.
For burning, several options. I use Nero, I think version 5.9 or 5.10 or I use the built in burner in Tmpgenc DVD author after creating a DVD myself.
