  1. Hi,
I know this player could read MP3/WMA/DIVX
Is it possible to burn on PC a DVD-R or -RW with multiple MP3 or DIVX and play it on this player ?
I'm asking that since some player only allow reading data from CD-R or CD-RW.
    Regards

  2. I tried it my Liteon player, no problem. I put several MP3 files and 2 Divx movies in a DVD-RW disc. They all play fine.

  3. Very cool!
    Thanks!

By the way, I read the LVD 2001 is able to upscale a signal into HDTV 1080i.
I do a lot of pictures with my camera and I'm wondering if the re-sampling resolution of a picture corresponds to the output signal format...
I mean if you are able to select a 1080i output (which correspond to a resolution of 1920x1080) do you know if a 6Mpix (3000x2000) is downscale into 1920x1080 for a perfect output rather than a downscale into 640x480 and then an upscale into 1920x1080 which mean losing a lot of details...

Do you know if the 720P is also supported by this Player ?

    Regards,
    FRED

I assume that at this firmware version it does not support subtitle. Hope that next version can do it.

  5. Does anyone know the actual spec the divx files need to be? For my archos multimedia player they have to be 352 by 288 and have MP3 encoded audio.

Does the player read any bit rating of Divx avis? My archos can read as low as 300 with very good results (not very much pixlation).

Does extension do the files need to be in (avi or mp4)?

Does the player have a limit of the number of mp3s it can read from a DVD-R?

Does it have a limit of how many divx files or the lenght of them it can read?

Any test results would be great.

  6. So far I have tested the LVD-2001 with the Home Theater profile of Dr. Divx and it worked perfectly. This week-end I will have the opportunity to test it with an High Definition and we'll see how it can handle it. I also possess some high resolution digital pictures so we will see how they will come out.

    >Does extension do the files need to be in (avi or mp4)?
Didn't test that yet, but I suppose so.

    >Does the player have a limit of the number of mp3s it can read from a DVD-R?
    No.

Does it have a limit of how many divx files or the lenght of them it can read?
    No.

  13. thanks, zhnujm. I inching closer to getting this when I return from vacation. Hopefully, PC Club won't raise the price while I'm away.

Has anyone tried a 1.4 GB HD-Burn VCD or DivX CD-R on this machine? I want to get Optorite (Sanyo) DVD writer w/ HD-Burn and create 1 CD version of my VCDs and DivX movies. Anyone have success?

    thanks in advance

  14. EatMoreChickens,

I have tried playing an HD-Burn CD on my Lite-On LVD2001 machine, burned with an Optorite DD0203 (with 2.16 firmware) and it doesn't play. The LVD2001 doesn't recognise the disc.

I have, however, sent a request to Lite-On customer support for them to include this function in a future firmware release. I have already asked them to support WMA/DivX sound encoded DivX movies but they replied saying that the machine already supported WMA 8 and 9. I guess my request lost something in translation.
