I have abit kg-7 raid motherboard, and I was wondering what is the fastest processor I can put on that board. Thanx

There should be a list of certified processors in the user manual. They are normally shown in a chart. If you don't have the user manual, you can go to Abit's website and downlaod it.

It can use up to a xp2100 processor. It is now a discontinued board (2 or 3 years old). I am assuming you got it used. If you want to go cheap, it works great with a XP1800 Processor, about $60US. It won't work with the newer Barton Processors. From a XP1800 to a XP2100 you won't see much difference. If you want to go faster, you really need a newer board that takes advantage of the latest technology. I would definatelly use an XP processor instead of a Duron to take advantage of this board.
EDIT: Sorry, I just checked your computer profile. I would still upgrade to a XP1800 and bring your memory up to 512K (at least). Unless you want to go to a newer motherboard; You would get the best performance at the lowest cost.
