does this thing disable or work around macrovision? if so, is there a special button or does it do it automatically? also does anybody know if the DataVideo DAC-100 does the same thing?

Laserdiscs are cool, but laserdiscs on DVD-Rs are cooler.

Hold down the input select button for a minute or two and it will disable the macrovision.

Actually I only hold it down for about 20 sec. and I think that may even be overkill. If you have a TV you can connect the svideo out on the back to, you hold down the button for a few seconds, and color bar appears on the TV screen, you continue to hold down the button until the color goes away again.
I wish some one with a tv hooked up to this thing would actually time the process, so I could know EXACTLY how long I have to hold that damned button down for sure -
I hooked it up to my TV.
It's 4 seconds till the color bars appear and at 15 seconds it disappears. So at 15 seconds the Macrovision will be disabled.
