I use Memorex DVD+RW's for my testing, and they always seem to go bad after about 10-15 burns. I can't erase them, not even with DVDInfo. The problem originates during a burn....when TDA will hit an error and abort the write process about halfway through. Are DVD+RW's known to go bad? Thanks.

Ya know, I didnt even have to read your post to know you were probably using Memorex discs. I have 3 memorex dvd-rw of which one has already gone bad on me and I'm sure the other 2 will eventually. They are about month old. Same with their cd-rw discs, nothing but crap! My very first cd-rw discs I bought were Fuji 650mb cdrw and that was about 3 years ago... I still use them and use them a lot. Also have a few office depot cd-rw that are about 2 1/2 years old and they still burn great. People can say that memorex are fine and all, but my only failures have been memorex, both the cd's and the dvd's.

I'll have to return them to Wal-Mart. My Memorex DVD burner works great, but it refuses to use a DVD-RW more than once. So I turned to DVD+RW's. I like buying from Wal-Mart because of the ease of returning them in problems arise. Wal-Mart only sells Memorex DVD+RW's I think. I'll turn to a different brand I guess.

  4. I have not had any luck with RWs regardless of the brand I have used. I am wondering if it's not a faulty idea to be able to write to and erase disks multiple times.

I have been using one HP DVD+RW and two Imation DVD+RW's (2X I think). The Imations are 10 months old and well past 100 rewrites each, I still have no errors on any. I use a HP DVD Writer 200i v1.51.

  6. Wow, that's a lot better luck then I have ever had with them.
    That includes cd-rws and dvd-rws I haven't tried dvd+rws yet. Maybe I will now.
