Is there any way to get around this? I think I saw someone mentioning reformatting and using NSFT (whatever it is) setting. The only reason I don't do this is because there are too many missing files that Windows2k needs (specifically my MODEM drivers) that can't be retrieved w/out Win98. Or is there a way to Cut RM files into little bits? Sorry if this is in the wrong forum... I dun think it is.
THANKS!

AVI_IO at http://www.nct.ch/multimedia/avi_io/index.html
or
VirtualDub at
http://www.virtualdub.org/
are both multisegment video capture apps that
get you around this issue.

For RM files I don't know any way around this. What you might be thinking of is for AVIs VDub (or AVI_IO) allow you to capture into segmented files that are as large as your set.
There are in fact two limitations. AVI files can't be larger than 2GB (standard) and no file can be larger than 4GB (on fat32). However, most new programs will read avi files up to 4GB. -
I'm in the process of testing those things out, but another thing I've noticed is, TINRA converted a 15mb RM file to a whopping 1.57GB file! When I play the file back, it plays the sound in real time, but the framerate is about 1,000 frames per second! The entire video lasts about 144 hours, which is nuts! Anywho, I'll check to see on the site about fixing this prob, but I figured I might as well post my mishapps here for now. Later!
