Is it possible to watch one show while recording another at the same time on another channel? I have a TiVo Series 2 40hr (black).

  2. With just the TIVO standalone, no. If you have a DirecTivo, then yes.

With the standalone, you would need an external splitter, one to the TIVO and another to the TV directly. If you haved cable/satellite that requires a converter box, then you'll need a box for each.

I do have digital cable. But what do you mean a box for each. I'll need a digital box for both the tv and TiVo? Couldn't I just split the output from digital cable to both? Then run one directly to tv, and the other run through a switch of some sort (I have a switch that already runs dvd/ps2)?
