Ok, so I'm trying to free up as much space as possible for the Main Movie of the back up to be the best quality it can be.

My movie that im backing up is, The Bourne Identity....
After using DVD Decrypter to rip main movie files only, I then used IFOedit to build the new IFO files.
Next, I'm using DVD Shrink, but in the selection I have a number of different Audio's i can get rid of or keep. I'll list them....
    AC3 6-ch Unspecified 386mb
    DTS 6-ch Unspecified 653mb
    AC3 6-ch Unspecified 332mb
    AC3 2-ch Unspecified 165mb

Which of these can I get rid of? All of them are english audio, and I would like to be able to play them through my Sound System, and also be able to play them through regular tv speakers with and w/o sound system.

    Setup

    Kenwood 600w 5 speaker 1 subwoofer 6-ch
    Playstation 2 (plays the dvd)
    36" Tv

But, I would also like to play the dvd with....
    Standalone dvd player
    Tv Speakers

Should I just keep all of the audios? But by removing one or 2 of them, I can lessen the compression ove the main movie.
    Thanks

  2. Keep the 6ch Ac3. This will work in all sceanrios, giving you 5.1 surround through a suitable decoder/amp, or plain stero through TV speakers. Get rid of the others.

Also, not sure if its important or not, but my movies, (and for the sake of it, since they're both played on the PS2) games set on "CD/DVD" on the Sound System. Thats how I was told to set it up by the guy at the store.
    Thanks

Make sure you keep the right track. Looks like one of those is directors comments if all 3 are in english (the second AC3 is usually comments if it's english).

  6. Well.. If you got a DTS DVD/Amp then keep that as it sounds the best by far (in fact Ive made some DVDs with JUST the DTS track, although this aint a great idea if you wanna take it around your friends)

Your list said 2 6 channel AC3 5.1 tracks, both in English...this doesnt make sense !. The 2 channel track is prob commentary, but you wouldnt have TWO 6 channel tracks both in English (unless one is the soundtrack or something).
