  1. I would like to hear some opinions regarding these different 4X brands.

I have read good things about all of them, but would like to hear your positive and/or negative comments regarding each.

I am currently using Ritek G04 without any problems what-so-ever, but they are a bit more expensive than the rest.

    I use Pioneer burners exclusively at home/work. (DVR-105 & DVR-106)

The only problem I have had with any media has been with el-cheapo Princo 1X white tops. They all burned fine, but after continuous playback in our set top player, the Princos start skipping more and more. (I had to re-rip my daughter's Monsters Inc onto a reliable Ritek G04)

    Thanks,

    Norm

  2. From what I've read, and experienced, none of them can compare to Ritek when it comes to quality and compatibility. Many people know this, that's why Ritek's are more expensive because the demand for them is higher, and people are willing to pay more for them.

I don't know about Optodisc I only tried a few of them back before 4x was common and they weren't too good.

Prime, isn't that PrimeDisc? They're just Ritek's with a different name on top....
DupEZ...I use these now, I have a 50 pack of 4X DupEZ's. I'm not happy with them only because my NEC 1300A won't burn them well at 4x. I have to burn them at 2x to get a burn that can be read back without errors.
I heard that users of pioneer a05/a06 can burn them at 4x without errors when they read them back. But I don't know anyone personally who has done that.

If I were you I'd get a sample pack from rima.com they give you 4 different brands of 4X media for $15 bucks or so.

I buy either Optodisc Gold or Ritek, depending on what is cheaper. They are both the same caliber discs, and I have zero coasters.

Prime, DupEZ seem to have issues from reports I've read and what people have told me. Given the negatives, never tried them myself.
