VCD Doesnt work

I captured an mpeg1 file with my Pinnacle Studio Mp10. I burnt the VCD using Nero 5.5, but when I play the VCD on a set top player the movie plays in sperts of about 1 second and jerks and plays for another second and then jerks. Does my Mpeg1 file have to be VCD compliant or can you use any Mpeg1 file for the VCD and use Nero to burn the VCD?

Nero 5.5 will automatically detect if your mpeg1 movie clip is VCD compliant or not. It will ask you if you want Nero to re-encode the file before burning.
