  1. Any good ways if you for ex. would like to delete a complete vobset with some extras and still keep the structure so the menu doesnt go crazy when choosing the deletet vobs

  2. I was told that CloneDVD will do this. That is the benefit of CloneDVD over proggy's like DVDSHRINK AND DVD2ONE......i've never used it..but apparently..it will replcate the extras/pgc's you don't want..with a low bitrate grey still pic. That way you can keep the structure of your DVD in tact and be able to access what portions you want to keep.

  3. hmm, anyway to use that and CCE to re-encode the movie

  4. ahh..u didn't say that you wanted to use "CCE" as well. Well, if you want to use CCE...it all depends on what movie it is your are doing...what the size of the extras are...what PGC's have what....and what the size is of the PGC's..you want to delete. You can still accomplish what you are trying to do..but every movie is unique in its structure....so it's really all about trial and error...being familiar with Ifoedit..maybe even vobedit....will be a plus.

Menu edit claims to handle that

There are also guides about replacing unwanted VOBs with
short black stills so you don't screw with the menu.

You can use Shrink to shrink unwanted things to stills. it's not zero
    but lots smaller.

The BEST way is to delete all menus, extras, languages, leaders and trailers
with shrink resulting in maximum possible quality movie.
    Who watches the menu ?

Maximum shrinkage and keeps the structure intact.

  7. I tried those guides in your link before, worked fine with one movie but on another movie the menu didn't work. When you choosed the vobset i get a blank BUT didnt returned to menu after that. But maybe the safest way is to do it like that anyway to reduce size and then remove the button in menu with menuedit.

the methods in the guides do work, it just takes some time to understand the consequences everytime you remove something

if you want maximum shrinkage with a complete titleset, you can remux the titleset with a blank .m2v file which will also reduce it in size considerably

just to check again I've tested with a 135,356kb titleset that I want completely removing. Using DVDShrink with still pictures@10% and removing all audio, it resulted in a file of 13,272kb

whereas remuxing with a small blank .m2v file and removing audio gave a result of 478kb, which is a helluva lot smaller than using still pictures but still maintains the DVD structure in exactly the same way

this process takes under 2 minutes to do so it all depends on the time/effort as to what you choose to do. If you are interested just say and I'll give you better details on exactly what method you need to follow

Yeah I need some help with this too. I'm trying to backup A Man Apart to dvd-5, but I found out both the fullscreen and widescreen version is on the film. I want to keep the menus and deleted scenes and trailers but I don't want the fullscreen version. it's 3.99 gigs alone. anyway to just take this out and have everything still work fine?
