  1. hey i was wondering if someone can help me, i have the samsung s224 dvd player for 1 yr now and was thinking of getting a home cinema system but the thing is i dont know what to get. I've been looking at the argos(uk) catalogue and can see that there are home cinema systems with built in dolby digital decoder, but then on another page it says home cinema speaker system (which converts dvd player with built-in dolby digital decoder to home cinema sound). So i dont really know if my dvd has bulit-in dobly decoder on the front panel it has the dolby and DTS symbols but in the instruction manual i read the "connecting to an audio system" page and shows how to connect a dobly digital decoder. So does that mean i need a sperate decoder or the Home cinema speaker system?

edit: ive just checked the back of the player and it has a optical and coaxil connection with "Digital Out" written above it.

    Thanks for any help

Son you need a dolby digital/dts receiver to extract the signals off the dvds also you need a speaker set up ,DO NOT make the mistake and purchase a dvd/receiver because they tend to break down more frequently..I have the denon 3802 and atlantic tech speakers and infinity towers 2 10 inch powered subwoofers 1 panasonic dvd player 1 panasonic dvd recorder and a separate dvd changer by denon ,the whole setup costs about 3,000 bucks so remember you get what you pay for,...
