    Hi

    Anyone who knows how to make this systems DVD player region free?
    Or if there are any other old hacks that can be used for this sytem also?

    Most Sony hardware cannot by unlocked. Sony hardware either supports region free out of the box or it doesn't. Sony is a stickler for copy protection (which includes region coding). By a product that supports region free.

    To make matters worse (for you anyway), most specialty units cannot be unlocked. Specialty units include portable players, auto/car players, VHS/DVD combo players, and HTIB (Home Theater in a Box).

    I followed the instructions given here with a programmable remote which worked a treat for the DAV-IS10:

    There are other websites out there that you can pay for a service remote to be sent to you on loan to unlock it too.
