Trouble with SVCD to VCD Conversion

I've been trying to convert an SVCD to VCD using the DVD2AVI and TMPGEnc guide found on this site. Adding the video source file works fine, but when I select the audio file (.mpa) TMPGEnc just closes.

I've tried setting the priority on the Directshow Multimedia File Reader up from -1 to 1, 2, or even 3 as suggested but it still won't work.

Can anyone recommend a way to fix this problem, or perhaps recommend a better guide (if there is one).

Just use TMPGEnc but get the MPEG2 plug in

Works for me.
