I typically use OGM2AVI to convert OGM files to AVI, and it always works--until now.

When OGM2AVI demuxes the ogm it gives me 2 files, an avi (the video) and an mp3 (the audio). Now typically OGM2AVI looks for an .ogg for the audio which it will convert to wav and then to mp3. So since I know a thing or two about editing batch files I tweaked OGM2AVI.bat to skip to the .ogg conversion step and just mux the .avi and the .mp3 together.

The resulting file seems to have playback problems though. When I play the video it plays with frequent hiccups (pauses) and the soundtrack is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. I played the original OGM file to make sure it wasn't a flaw in the original encoding but the OGM plays flawlessly.

So what do I need to do to fix this? OGM2AVI uses a utility called AVIMux to do the muxing step.

    If you're just remuxing use,
    avimux-gui or vdubmod.

I've heard it's possible to have vfr in ogm in a broken manner, but i've not seen it.

I may be late on this. Anyway, same thing happened to me. Just delete the two files and start over. Don't forget to empty your trash/recycling bin.
