    Well the video and audio seem to be insync before converting but after it is outta sync it seems by just alittle and its noticable. So i was wondering is there a program out there that i can fix this with before converting? Because somehow the audio has to be off-set and when the conversion starts it it throws the video/audio off because there not matched up properly. Anyways all help is appreciated. BTW the converter i am using is Convertxtodvd.

    MKV can be difficult to convert. Avi2Dvd might be another converter to try. But if ConvertX is having problems with it, you might have to do a few more steps. MKVExtractGUI is one program to use to separate the streams. Then you can adjust the audio offset if needed. But make sure the sync error stays the same the full length of the video. If it gradually changes, you have other problems.

    BTW, just because it plays back with no problems on a computer doesn't mean the file isn't damaged. Software players can ignore some errors. But when you do a encode or format conversion, those same errors will cause problems.

    There have been a few occasions where favc, dvdflick, and convertxtodvd could not handle my mkv files that played fine on software player. By "could not handle" I mean keep the audio and video in sync. The only app that could handle these files when the 3 above mentioned could not was Tmpgenc Dvd Source Creator.

    MKVs can contain any type of audio and any type of video.
    Sync problems after converting-from-MKV-to-anything can be caused by:

    a) variable framerate video;
    b) variable bitrate audio;
    c) variable samplerate audio;
    d) some of the above;
    e) all of the above;
    f) evil spirits;
    g) lupus;

    Speaking in general, Avisynth's "DirectShowSource(blahblhahblah, convertfps=true)" plus
    a decent encoder is sufficient to avoid sync problems during/after format conversion. However
    sometimes you'll need to extract the "offending" audio track and find out the adequate way
    to handle it. In these difficult cases, there is no room for all-in-one wonders --- gomen nasai.
