    Hi y'all,

I'm trying to figure out how I can play DVD-R or DVD+R on my LG 5083.
So far I've tried to use DvdDecryptor to write an image, NERO in UDF 1.02 mode and STOMP RecordNow, but all give the same result ... the DVD's just won't play on my LG. When I burn a DVD+RW with either method it plays fine. The burner is a SONY DW-U10A by the way, the media I used are TDK and NASHUA.
I read something about the bitsetting on the DVD but it seems that is not possible with SONY drives.
So if any of you LG 5083 owners could point me in the right direction that would be great.

    Thanks

Try different media and burn at 1x! I suggest Ritek, PowerDisc or LC (Prodisc). Or get the expensive ones: Apple, TDK... Some cheap media won't play in old stand alones.

I have a Phlico DVP2500, but I do conversions for people and I have found that Ritek and Prodisc (LC) are the most compatible "cheap" media.
