  2. IMO anything HP is a waste. I would suggest getting this dual format NEC drive for only $135.

  3. I really don't like HP drive.. they are good for 12 month, then they always die.. (4 drived died in my hand) Stay away. Pioneer A06 would be the best bet, or the NEC drive if you don't mind using Hacked firmware

I own a HP 300i. Shows up as "HP 300n" after installation in Windows XP Professional. Burns dvd's perfect with DVDXCOPY Express. I haven't had any problems at all using "Memorex" 4x DVD+R and DVD+RW media. So far a great drive.

It sure looks like NEC ND-1100....

You can prolly get NEC ND-1300, rebadged as 'Mitsumi' for less (model DW-7802TE).

    Or Mitsumi DW-7801TE --- NEC ND-1100.

  7. The NEC ND-1100(4x,+RW) is going for as little as $99 and the ND-1300(4x,-/+RW) for $115,online prices are usually better than retail.
