i have about 7 music videos that im trying o put into one file. i made the timeline in premiere 6.5, but when i go to encode it, it never gets more than 25% done before it crashes. it doesnt matter if i encode in mpg, or divx avi, or dv avi. it crashes every time. if i just try to convert one file it works. but this one file im trying to make akways crashes. anyone know what it could be?

I use Premiere a lot but I rarely use it to encode with, especially divx files. You might want to try to encode that one file that is giving you a hard time with another application like Tmpeg. It sounds like something is wrong with it. If you downloaded the file there is a good chance it is corrupted. I think there are some apps that can fix it like divxfix.

There is a frameserver for Premiere. Look in tools.
I would frameserve it to TMPGenc.
