does stripping credits transcode?

Does stripping credit transcode? I'd prefer to strip the credits and not transcode (compress) in some cases. I know DVDShrink does this, but I can't find documentation on what DVDShink is doing when it strips credits.

Also, does any other programs do that?

Or can I use DVDShrink to strip credits, but not transcode. Then use something better (like InstantCopy) to do the transcoding?

If you set compression to 100% it will just trim
