  1. I like to have a back up of my daughter's disks in our car as well as at home so I tend to keep a second one on hand. If I try to take the back up and rip a copy of it I have been getting an error message that says the burn process failed yet when I try the disk it plays fine (most of the time). Some times I do get an actual failure.

I m running Nero 6.0 and using the copy disk function. Any ideas or suggestions?

And yet before anyone chastises me I know it's technically unethical to make more than one copy but as long as it is my original and I'm not selling then .........well you see my point.

  2. Come one, surely someone has seen or has had this happen to them.

Just to see what is going on I have tried six different disks in the last 24 hours each time with the same reuslt...coaster. All of these had previously given no problem.

I am using Ritek media, and a Pioneer 105. I have tried to rip from media that has a label and some that does not (trying to eliminate the label error theory). None of the blank media has labels on it so that is not the cause of my problems.

I can take the same disk that will not copy disk to disk, re-rip it to the HD and then burn with no problems what so ever.

    What am I missing?????

BTW - Already deleted Nero 6 and reinstalled 5.5 and did not solve the problem so it does not look like a Nero problem.

  3. Nero 6 has some bugs, did you download a patch or something for it?

No patch, simply uninstalled 6.xx and reinstalled an earlier version (5.9).

even with this earlier version I get the same results - error message near the end of the burning session that tells me that there was a read error.
