So I successfully burned a (S)VCD on a CD. It plays alright on my dvd player.
My question is : how do I make the CD play AUTOMATICALLY when inserted into a computer ? Make the movie on the CD autoplay or "auto-executable" on a PC or Mac ?

For a VCD, I believe the movie is in the MPEGAV folder. For a SVCD, the movie is in the MPEG2 folder.

    this works for me
    http://www.roderz.uklinux.net/freeloader.htm
opens the file in the default windoze app for the given extension.
    There are others around though....

    Freeloader sounds good!

Are there any other solutions or tools for autoplaying a (S)VCD on a PC ?

    What about the MAC ?

Do a search on some of my previous posts on the subject and you'll find other options.

Macs pre-OSX is almost impossible (except defunct Query's VCDMaker Pro
Don't know about OSX stuff. Anyone else?

  5. Like the guy said for Mac it's a pain. For PCs, WMP plays MPEG1 files (VCD) for MPEG2 files (SVCD/CVD) you need to have a MPEG2 codec installed on the PC. That means if the person doesn't they would need to install one, report and then play the disc.

You can include the a MPEG2 codec on your SVCD and write a simple install program, but that's not exactly what your looking for is it

So even for PC unless it's MPEG1 it becomes a problem.
