  1. im trying to join a couple of avi's together using latest Vdub - but Vdub detects this improper VBR audio encoding on each file and when I try to append them, i get another error:

Cannot append segment: The audio streams have different sampling rates (XXXXXXXX vs XXXXXXXX).

so i tried using the older version of Vdub (1.3 i think). this one does not detect the VBR audio and i was able to append my avi's. but the resulting avi file is damaged. somewhere along the middle of the movie, the sound just disappears.

so to circumvent, i first joined the avi files without audio. then i did the process again, now only extracting audio WAV (PCM compression/44100 conversion). so end result is i have 2 files, one WAV and one AVI. then i used TMPGENc to encode to MPG1 format. resulting mpg is ok - vid and audio in sync. but i'd like to get comments from you guys/experts if the entire process i just did is OK or NOT.

    thanks a lot ppl.
