Why update InstantCopy?

In one of the guides using Pinnacle InstantCopy, an instruction says you'll also need the update. Big bold letters with 3! (count em) 3! exclamation points say "Be sure to update if you haven't !!! " (see, 3)

But I went to the Pinnacle website for the update, and since their links didn't work either, I poked around in their forums and saw a LOT of complaints when people added the update. Crashes, errors, etc.

So what is so important about the 3! update that it might be worth the risk? In short, what does it do anyway?

PS is all the errors possibly why the link doesn't work anymore? they took it offline?

Burned DVD will work i9n more dvd players with the update by adding the audio_TS folder

that's it?? an audio folder?

the info on the mrbass link looks the same as on pinnacle but most people said the speed and quality improvements were nil.
unless all the problems were an improvement by providing some computer debugging fun

but i guess my real question was why they made it seem so critical?
slight improved compatability doesn't seem enough

anyone using 7.1.1 (the update) help out with this?
