They are having a sale at Future Shop in Canada as well for the memorex, but that last batch of Memorex 2X (prodisc) I had screwed up DVD video's. You could burn the movie to the disc but they screwed up part way thru the movie, started to get pixelated and then froze up. I check the DVD and the bitrate falls off to less the 1.0Mbps for some reason. I made 2 coffee coasters before testing on a RW, where the movie worked fine , so i burned to a generiec 2X just fine.

So they are probably on sale because they are junk!!!

How do you run them through DVDInfo?

    Thanks!
Don't waste your media. Burn it on re-writable media first.

When you buy the disks and bring them home open one up and insert it in your DVD drive and d/l DVDInfo and run.

Have people actually seen Memorex +R media that was CMC? Virtually all the retail 4X +R media I've seen (whether it's Memorex, Verbatim, or TDK) has been Ricoh. I suspect they are using Ricoh for +R and CMC for -R. In which case it's safe to buy Memorex if you are interested in +R only, but not safe to buy Memorex -R's.

I'd have to agree with Metaluna .

All the 4X +R media I've purchased has been RICOHJPN .

This is true whether its Verbatim , TDK , or Memorex .

    I have yet to see a 4X +R with a CMC media code .

    Its good stuff too .

I've only had one bad burn out of 100 plus discs .

This was caused by me , bad authoring .

@peregrin: I was a little worried myself but tried a couple and didn't have any problem. All in all I've burned about 20 of the 2.4x and haven't had any problems.

Last time I checked, Future Shop in Canada was selling 5 pack of Memorex 4x for $15. I've burned about 4 so far without any coasters.

The 50 Pack dvd+r was regularly $109.99 got 40% off ($43.99.) I also applied for and used a CompUSA card to get an extra %5 off ($5.50).

So I must have paid about $60.50 before tax.
