I'm wondering if the default settings of the included templetes in tmpegenc are sufficiant for a good quality final mpeg? I've been using the TIbrO VideoCD templete in the tools section? Is this a good one? What others should I try? I'm looking to make a crisp quality DVD rip. Any suggestions or directions would be greatly appreciated....

I've had quite good quality with the standard templates, but different problems call for different solutions so sometimes a little tweak here and there can help.

After you get used to TMPGEnc your own custom templates will be best. By that I mean if your making rips for yourself and not worrying about being VCD compliant.
I use a custom xSVCD template for all my stuff now ... but my template my be no good to you (depending on your DVD player)
