I'm wondering if the default settings of the included templetes in tmpegenc are sufficiant for a good quality final mpeg? I've been using the TIbrO VideoCD templete in the tools section? Is this a good one? What others should I try? I'm looking to make a crisp quality DVD rip. Any suggestions or directions would be greatly appreciated....

  2. I've had quite good quality with the standard templates, but different problems call for different solutions so sometimes a little tweak here and there can help.

  4. After you get used to TMPGEnc your own custom templates will be best. By that I mean if your making rips for yourself and not worrying about being VCD compliant.

I use a custom xSVCD template for all my stuff now ... but my template my be no good to you (depending on your DVD player)
