I got a 50 pack imation DVD+R discs from Bestbuy.The outer pack reads that the disc can store upto 4hours of video in EP Mode and 2hrs of video in SP mode.What is tis all about?Does it by an chance mean that I can store 4hrs of high quality video on my discs![]()

That rating mostly applies to those who use stand alone DVD recorders .

Well.....I converted my internal DVD burner to a stand alone using firewire enclosure!!

by "stand alone" vtecwil means the set-top DVD recorders that connect to your TV, not computer burners.
EP and SP modes are just different resolution and bitrates.
you can fit 4 hours of video on a DVD-R at 352 x 480 (half D1) at a low bitrate, but don't expect the quality to be as good as a 2-hour, 720 x 480 encoding.
