I've been recording TV shows onto DVD-RW for my mom. I use -RW's because most of the stuff I record for her I'm not planning on keeping. She's had so-so luck in playing them, but lately compatability has been worse.

The latest batch of -RW's I've been using are Leda's (white top).

It's become such a pain that I've decided to purchase top quality -RW discs. I was going to order some Pioneers since she's never had a problem playing those, but I've heard they have stopped selling their brand.

I'm asking for suggestions on what you guys currently consider to be the top high quality -RW discs (this week).

  2. Ritek 100% number 1!

Did you check to make sure her DVD player is compatible with that format?

I didn't think Ritek made -RW.

    Yeah, she's got an Apex 1200 I've got a 1201).
It DOES play -RW, but it's having real trouble with these Ledas.

BTW, if I was too vague above, I'm looking for a replacement for Pioneer -RW's.
