    Hi. At the moment I am using Nero to make my copies, as I live in the UK is there anyway I can make certain they are being done in the pal format, or do I need another program to convert them to pal.

    If they were PAL to begin with, they'll be PAL when you copy them.

    If they were NTSC to being with, they will NOT be PAL, they will be NTSC.

    You would have to RE-ENCODE them, not convert them. It's a length process which we cover at least twice a week in here. Read through the backlog of posts.

  3. Also .... unless you have a really old TV or cheapo portable, most DVD Players/TV's are multisync these days and will play NTSC or Pal, so it shouldn't really be much of a problem.

    Thanks for the quick replies. I am not a 100% sure that is the problem, a friend has a Kenwood standalone player, it seems to play some DVD Rs but others it will not even using the same media, so I thought it might be that it wont accept ntsc.
