you can do everyting you are asking without limitation or problem.

A DVD is a DVD. No matter where it is burned or how. There is no restriction against DVDs created under Mac OS X based computers, and they will play on any platform or player that supports DVD±R[W] media.

That only happens when you are not burning them properly on the mac. in fact, it wont work in anything (even the mac) in this case.

A dvd burned with a superdrive is no different than a dvd burned on antoher drive.

hope that makes since. Oh, and for data cd's / dvd's you can even burn as HYBRID or PC disk if you like - makes no difference though. Even the std "mac disk" will be read by pc, you just see a few files that are invisible on the mac thats all

Ahhh now this is a different story.

Mac's use DVD-r/rw primarely. So if you got a superdrive chances are it WILL NOT BURN +R/RW disks. But there is nothing saying a -r/rw disk burned on a mac wont work on a pc.

NOW! IF you have a pc and burn a +R/RW disk it most likely wont work on a mac, because the drives are -R/RW. You can get it to work however, if you have a +R/RW EXTERNAL drive, but even then its difficult. You can burn to these +R/RW disks with an external drive and toast (they are not supported by the OS as of yet) but once you burn them you may not beable to access the data on the mac. I say may because some people can others cant.

DVD Rams are totally different. They require a RAM drive so thats another story.

Generally speaking, -r/rw are the most common dvd'rs and they are cross platform ie mac burned work on PC, PC burned work on mac.

Since standard mac dvd burners are -r/rw drives just stick with that meda.

    hope that makes since

  7. Recordable DVD discs come in several/many flavors. You should search this site for the FAQ's on these different and competing flavors.
