is there NEway of putting a 730MB movie on a 700MB CD-R without losing NE kindof quality?...without overburning

You can put around 800 MB of movie on a VCD/SVCD, if you plan to burn a data cd with for ex. an AVI movie on it, then the limit is 700MB and you will lose quality by reencoding, or cut the movie.

There is always burning in mode2, without any error protection. the only problem is that the slightest scratch will ruin the CD.

You could try a 90 min/800 MB cd-r but not all drives support them.
