I've heard and read the Ricoh media is only mid-quality media -- that would make the majority of DVD+R media only mid-quality. If this is the case who makes the high quality media then??? Maxell? Samsung? I would like to know because I think Ricoh media is pretty good on the quality.....

lol...Ricoh is High quality media buddy...don't believe everything you read. Ricoh makes +R/RW media for countless companies...some of which include but aren't limited to...Memorex, TDK, and Sony.
And the RW disks that come with the Sony drives are manufactured by RICOH as well. Not to mention that probably 1 in 100 people have an issue with Ricoh media. It's top of the line and extremely stable and consistent.
