I need to install a surveillance camera to capture analog video. I have a program called Desktop Spy that will capture JPEG’s that appear on the desktop. The program works great and each image is time and dated. It can be set up to capture from 1 second on up. Quality of the image can be set as well.
I am looking at getting a USB 2.0 capture card to feed me the signal. Here is where I need some help. I would like some input on what USB 2.0 card will give great results. Currently the image will be B/W, but color camera will be purchase soon…..

If you are capturing stills do you even need a more expensive USB 2.0 device (not card) when a USB 1.1 would probably be cheaper and work just as well with stills?
I've seen cards that go into the PC for surveilence work that can take multiple cameras.
