I rip all the movie files with dvd decrypter, then I use DVD Shrink to shrink from a DVD9 to a DVD5 (compressing things so everything will fit, not just the main movie). everything seems like it should be working okay...
but my software player won't play it. when I double click, the program hangs, then freezes completely. when I go to "open DVD folder" it says it says that "no DVD files were found" or something along those lines.
what's wrong?

Why are you not using DVDshrink to rip the DVD directly. I have had 100% success with all but a couple of strange multi angle disks. Try the newest V3.0 beta. It can do variable compression not just set ammounts. Works perfectly if you you do it all with it. Only a feww movies I've found the need to rip with some other utility.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
