  1. Hi, I'm new on these forums, and I searched for my query all of the first day I had to wait for registering, but I wasn't exactly sure what to search for, so sorry if this has already been covered/answered. I recently was watching an MPEG video with Light Alloy, and I was seeking through it and something terrible happened; something happened to the file and now it only plays clip of the first minute and half and doesn't play the rest of the duration (which is about twenty minutes). The file size itself wasn't altered, but the duration of the video was. I initially opened up all of my other players and watched it, but now the video had been truncated in all of those players (Windows Media Player, Quicktime Pro). So, I re downloaded the file several times (even with varying sizes) and all of the new files I download carry the same problem. I have viewed the video before and it used to be around 20 minutes, and there wasn't a problem, but now it seems every duplicate of that video I download is truncated to that 1 minute and 31 second mark. The rest of the video is there too, because I can seek through the entire movie, but it'll only play up to 1 minute 31 seconds of it. I tried VCD Gear (default settings), but that only fixes the minor discrepencies of the video and not the duration problem. I am running Windows 2000 Professional (SP 2) on an Athlon 1200 mhz processor, with GeForce 2 MX 32 mb VRAM with latest Nvidia drivers. The video had run properly before, so I doubt it's a hardware problem. Thanks for your time, .

try unmuxing it in TMPGEnc and then re-muxing it (with bbMPEG or tmpgenc) .. the time stamps are messed up it sounds like ..

qt pro and media player are not the best for playing mpegs anyway ..

try mediaplayer classic or another player (like PowerDVD)
