  1. i want to frameserve a movie with subtitles and i want the sub to be on the black lines buttom...how can i do that?
is there anyother way to frameserve to CCE (including sub's) than Vdub?

  2. The answer to first question is, yes. I always put subtitles on the bottom black bar. Here is what you need to do. You need DVD2AVI, VDub, Avisynth, VobSub.

I assume you are familiar with procedure of normal frameserving with DVD2AVI-->AVISynth-->Virtualdub. Now you need to rip subtitles from VOBs with VobSub. After that, load your AVIsynth script into VDub, then go to filters, choose VobSub, load your VobSub file. To place subtitles properly, choose Configure to adjust. When everything is in place, you can start frameserving to your encoder.

Answer to second question is also yes. In fact, unless necessary, you don't need VDub to frameserve. AVIsynth is much faster and versatile. But it doesn't have a GUI, so I use VDub to preview my script.

  6. I have no idea. I always ripped subtitles from VOB myself and add it to my SVCD. Never used subtitle files from others. Truman has a very complete guide on subtitles in the Guides section. Perhaps it can be done with Avisynth. But I never tried it.

You were on a roll until you spoke without realizing there are several GUIs for AviSynth. I was going to try all of them until I became addicted to AVSGEN.
    Hello.
