DV camcorder as Webcam

Does anyone know of a utility that will let me use my miniDV camcorder (connected through firewire) as a webcam? I found one called WebcamDV on download.com, but I'd appreciate other suggestions.

I want this to be able to do a video conference on messenger with my brother who has a standard webcam.

Windows Messenger 5.x and the new 6.0 allows me use the DV-cam
as a webcam, no extra software needed.

I just plug it in.

If you bought your camcorder new then check your software, mine came with webcam software on the disk.
What camcorder do you have?

For my Sony TRV-25, I had to install the drivers for the camcorder (by installing the Sony provided Pixela software) and use a USB connection (see your manual). Windows Netmeeting then recognized the camcorder as a webcam without any problems.
